CONTEST TIME! CALLING ALL CARD ALTER ARTISTS ESPECIALLY Sorcery: Contested Realm TCG "ALTER ARTISTS"

 

 I will be conducting a CONTEST for Alter Artists folks to enter. 

 

GUIDELINES FOR WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: "Unique and transformative" interpretation of my DragonLord Mini Set characters presented in a "representational art presentation" in other words, done in an illustrated, realistic presentation (not abstract) but can be stylized in any number of representational, surrealistic, comic, anime or other interpretations. You are being asked to create a totally unique and different interpretation than the images and characters that I created for the Dragonlord mini set and my storyline. We ask that you conceptualize and execute your own unique interpretation of any of the cards characters, not a derivative or variant of my existing character (no same characters in a different pose or just varying colors etc.) this has to be your universe and your characters aligned with the titles and subject matter of the characters I created. Think “alternate universe.”

 

The winner will be chosen by "Team Beard" (which includes myself, managers of our gallery shops, sales representatives and long time diverse original art collectors to ensure a versatile and wide diverse review of the submissions) based on the MOST unique and well executed versions of any of the DragonLord Mini Sets card characters from my storyline.  

 

A. We will wrap up submissions by December 1st 2025. You can submit your photo of your "HAND PAINTED" ALTERED Dragonlord Mini Set card to any of my various social media platforms, or contact my website via DM. www.edbeardjr.com contact us via our email form and we will respond back with a way you can send your image file.

 

B. Card paintings should be created on "actual" DRAGONLORD CARDS when possible if you are in the domestic US there is no reason for you not to be able to purchase on the secondary market at $10 or less most of the cards in the mini set to paint on. We expect that if you are a US resident you will in fact paint on an actual official Dragonlord mini set card.

 

INTERNATIONAL CONTESTANTS: (due to the limited access to the cards overseas) we will allow a proxy to be painted on for submission.

 

NOTE: Artists submitting will absolutely want to make sure they are painting on an actual card if at all possible as all of the submissions will be presented to a wide audience of original art collectors who may wish to purchase these alters. 

 

You will not want to miss out on a potential substantial sale of your alter card art with any one of those potential collectors. It's by far worth more than the $10-$15 you may pay to obtain a card.

C. You must paint completely over my work and copyright title line, leaving only the text box, symbols and title. 

 

The Prize offering:

 

1.  is a ($500 USD equivalent value) gift card or credit to an online art supply store of the contestants choice (assuming the online store offers a gift card or store credit to be purchased)

 

2. One year of FREE links to my Patreon

 

3. ONE DragonLord Mini Set Signed and Numbered out of 700  Box (autographed cards optional INNER PACK MUST BE OPENED BY ME for quality control)

 

4. PERIPHERAL BENEFITS: My mentorship which includes, referrals to Licensing agents, advice and contacts for manufacturing and a LIFETIME of 47 years of freelance career knowledge Q&A.

 

5. Only one submission per artist.

 

6. There is no cash value or exchange for the $500 gift card or credit. Credit must be processed directly to an online art store website. It is up to the artist to provide a valid online art store that offers gift card or gift certificate to be credited.

 

7. Contestant is responsible for all shipping, tariff, customs, vat fees related to the Dragonlord mini set signed and numbered box. Art of Ed Beard Jr., It's members, affiliates are not liable in the event of loss or damage to the Dragonlord mini set signed and numbered box in the event courier either damages or loses the item. Insurance is available to the winner. We will facilitate filing the insurance claim on behalf of the recipient in order to "exchange only" the Dragonlord mini sets signed and numbered box with a replacement. There is no cash value associated with the Dragonlord mini set signed and numbered box. 

 

We are not responsible or liable in anyway in the event the courier and or its insurance company declines any claim. We will ensure that the package has been shipped in compliance with the courier shipping container requirements. We will photograph all contents and shipping packaging. Recipient is responsible to keep all packaging and provide photographs upon request in the event of loss or damage.

8. Art of Ed Beard JR will provide necessary referrals to agents or agency to assist artist in obtaining representation however Art of Ed Beard JR or its members and affiliates, is not responsible, nor in any way is guaranteeing that artist will be selected as a client. 

 

We will make the recommendation to the agency we have worked with for many years and the referral directly to the agency, however it's between the artist and the agency to work out any future relationship.

 

9. Contestant authorizes the Art of Ed Beard Jr. and its affiliate social media platforms to showcase and present publicly, publish and promote the artists work in relationship to this contest and presenting the artists work to the public in general.

 

10. Art of Ed Beard JR reserves the right to terminate Patreon link offer, mentorship or representation in anyway at its sole discretion, if it deems contestants actions violate any NDA, rules, professional conductor or etiquette and deems it necessary to take such appropriate and necessary action.

 

Contestants must provide their legal name, address, telephone number, email, website or social media platform they wish to direct the public. 

 

Contestant may be publicly identified as their alias when their work is showcased.
