The Sea Dragon in Norse mythology is believed to be an offspring of Loki. The Sea Dragon goes by many names, Jörmungandr and Miðgarðsormr are most common. A romance between Loki and the giantess, Angrboða, was known in Norse poetry to have created monstrous children. The Sea Serpent was the son of Loki that was the enemy of Thor himself. It was during the last battle that it is said the Sea Serpent left the waters, poisoned the sky, Thor killed the Serpent but the poison killed Thor as well.
